Each song on "Blue Genes" tells stories with a solid Americana heritage.
"Joe Asselin is a multi-instrumental talent who plays it from the gut and writes from the hear" - Nick Moss: The Nick Moss Band
Originally from York Beach Maine and now a Champaign IL resident, Joe Asselin has performed within a traditional blues background for years. Reaching international notice as the Harmonica Player for "The Kilborn Alley Blues Band" and national status as the lead guitarist for "The Sugar Prophets;" Joe has incorporated all his backgrounds into this album. His love for the song writers of the past and the story telling of those artists finally has reached the plateau to be released. Each song holds its story based off of real life events during Joe's growth in Champaign IL. Joe makes the majority of his living providing landscape and lawncare services in the local area running a small company called "Ask Joe To Mow."
